dsc00186Parent Projects

Parents are invited to come in to their children’s classes to help out with projects during the year.  These include literacy, fun maths, science for fun, gardening and card games.  You do not need any particular skills or knowledge to help us.  These projects are hugely beneficial to the students and parents report that they are really enjoyable!

Parent Classes

Parent classes are provided during the year.  These are classes in which parents have expressed an interest in and to date have included, cookery, computers, art and woodwork classes.

Do you want to improve your maths skills?

There is a QQI Level 2 maths course on Wednesday afternoons in Wexford Adult Ed. Centre.

If interested please phone:  053-9152673 or 086-8533649 and talk to Jackie Browne.

Science

Kennedy Park is an award-winning school in the area of Science.  We have achieved a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) Excellence Award eleven years in a row.  Science is taught to all classes from Junior Infants to 6th class.

We mark Science Week each November with experiments, visiting scientists, “buddy” science activities and last year for the first time we held a science Open Day for parents, grandparents and the wider school community which proved to be a wonderful event!

Help with Childcare costs

If you are a parent on low income, in college, job training or in receipt of a social welfare payment or you hold a medical card, you may be entitled to assistance with your childcare costs.

See www.DCYA.GOV.IE to find out if you are eligible and what “band” you fall into. If eligible contact your local city/county childcare committee (CCC) on www.DCYA.GOV.IE.  The maximum subvention is €95 per week depending on how often your child attends the childcare service.
