You may or may not know that the way we teach maths in school is changing.
The new Primary Mathematics Curriculum aims to help children develop a deep understanding of maths through problem-solving, discussion and real-life connections. Rather than focusing only on getting the right answer, pupils are encouraged to explain their thinking, explore different strategies and build confidence with numbers over time. The curriculum places strong emphasis on understanding concepts, using maths language and developing positive attitudes towards maths, so that children can apply their learning meaningfully both in school and in everyday life.
